  • How are the listings structured?
  • SunshineHelp.com displays database search results under four main categories (Child Care, Elder Care, Domestic Chores and Others) by the date on which listings are placed, with preferential listing given to sponsors and parities who pay for our services. Currently, the following services are available:

    • Sponsored Advertisement: Sponsors are always displayed first, and Sponsor listings are offered hyperlinks to their Web site or web page of the companies placing advertisement on the SunshineHelp.com site. Available for just pennies a day, this is some of the most cost effective advertising any company can do to connect with customers searching for what they sell or the service they provide. We put advertisers at the heart of one of the most important caregiving issues - finding capable, qualified caregivers for loved ones - and help them build brand awareness while driving traffic to their websites. Let SunshineHelp.com be your advertisement partner to help you connect with an audience deeply engaged in caregiving through banner ads, highlighted agency listings or click-through ads. Click here for more information on Sponsored Advertisement.
    • Top-Ads: Top-Ads service allows listing to be placed at the top of a page in a exceptional spot for periods of 30 days. The goal of this service is to increase the visibility of a listing, which means more visitors and more work or more applicants. A highlighted listing will be more noticeable to more than 100,000 daily visitors to the SunshineHelp.com site. Studies show that this service increases the amount of people who will view a listing by an average of eight times when compared with listings without this service. In some categories, such as those with a higher amount of listings, this factor can be as high as 20 times. "Top-Ads" listing are rotated with others from the same category, and on any given day there are no more than 10 listings in "rotation" per category; therefore, "Top-Ads" listings are shown aproximately once every three times the page is loaded. Click here for more information on our Top-Ads Service.
    • Listing Highlights: Highlighting service allows listings more visibility than the others on the list. Having a differentiating element (as a background color) will call the attention of the visitor, thus giving a listing more visibility and helps make a faster connection between the parties. Highlighted listings brings more clients and the possibility of finding more employees or contract personnel. With this option, visitors searching by a category or by a city will find highlighted listings first, as they appear on the first page before the rest of the listings. For the service to have a true effect, the duration of the service must be reduced or else most of the listings could end up highlighted, thus canceling the effect. For this reason, our "Highlight a listing" service is good for 7 days. Click here for more information on our Listing Highlighting Service.
    • Background Checks: Sitters with background checks are more likely to land jobs because it increases the trust level and has safety appeal.A standard background check includes:
    • Identity Check, verifying the applicant's legal name, current address, Social Security number, previous addresses, and aliases or other names used by the registrant.
    • National Criminal Search, for records appearing in state and county criminal record repositories, state sex offender registries, prison, parole and release files from state Department of Corrections, administrative offices of Courts, and other state agencies, and various third-party proprietary criminal record information.
    • Traffic Violations in jurisdictions where traffic violations count as misdemeanors or felonies. Traffic violations may appear on the National Criminal Search. Normally, traffic violations are not checked unless a state reports these violations as a criminal offense.

NOTES: offenses for minors may not appear in the public record and are, therefore, not accessible in the background check. Not all arrest logs, sex offender registries and conviction records are available in all counties/states, and different jurisdictions have different reporting requirements. If you would like to receive the background check requirements of the state in which you live, please send us an email at info@sunshinehelp.com. Listings with the special SunshineHelp BC icon indicate that a background check is available and speeds up the screening process. Click here for more information on background checks.

  • How do I contact the people listing jobs or offering services?
  • Direct contact is encouraged between those listing jobs and those offering services. However, only registered users of SunshineHelp.com can use our services, which includes email contact. Visitors can access the user area or register online.

If you are interested in submitting written material - either articles, photojournalistic pieces - or would like to recommend a site for us to visit, please send us an email at info@sunshinehelp.com

  • What does the little sun besides a listing mean?
  • Listings with the special SunshineHelp BC icon indicate that a background check is available and speeds up the screening process.
